Project Title 3 OF 1 // 3 ARCHITECTURES FOR
1 STORY

Studio Description Studio Description [Visual communication, Narrative architecture]
The design project in architecture field is changing and needs a consequent development of its
way of communication. The most difficult part is communicate the ideas.
This course provides to the student to an introduction to conceptual and architectural design
with a particular emphasis on visual communication skills, formal analysis, design process and
spatial result. The aim is to design three art centers located in different points as Chiang Mai,
Bangkok, Surat thani. The three art centers have to combine aesthetic intrigue concept with a
place of communication, of network that gives the idea of art as an active dimension of
contemporary life. Students must think about how to communicate their project, starting from a
visual research to a final result using the narrative scenario with a brief text.
Students must communicate the project to a non-technical audience.
The unique rule is that the project has to be no less than 3,000 sq.m. "

ABSTRACT

First, ajan assigned us to think about “What is art center (as a place)?" and presented by image and reference. I had only abstract idea that art center, at least, should be an art gallery because it is the place where an artist be able to express the idea and a viewer be able to feel. Everyone in a gallery can participate in event or activity there.

In the next day, I went to Queen Sirikit Art Gallery in case that I would get some idea. First, I feel an expression of the picture. Then, I interpreted one of gallery why people in the picture act like that base on my knowledge and situation at this time (many of paintings are about political situation in Thailand) so that I could assume what is the massage of the picture. Digesting process
! This word came into my thought. This can be use to analogize my first idea, “a place for people to digest”.

VIDEO

This is a video representing what is art center in my point of view

Art center is a place for people to absorb art.
And it take time to digest.

VISUAL RESEARCH

This case study is Iqualada cemetery, near Barcelona, Catalonia , was designed by the architects Enric Miralles and Carme Pinós.
This spacing and sequencing can be fit into my project because the element in each sequencing of space is rapidly reduced causing the last sequence become gathering space and suit to be a space for people to absorb art exhibited and whole architecture.

The idea of ART SQUARE is come up

SCENARIO

this scenario show sequencing spacing and programing

As this scenario, The last sequence, center of the square, is a space for community to absorb whole architectural space.
